Parkeroo Christmas

Christmas 2012
is in the books ... and it was a good one.
The highlight was watching my little  Parker Rhodes  open his presents.

He's 19 months old ... so essentially this was his "first" Christmas.
Since my son and his wife were not coming home for the holidays this year ...
due to the October birth of my sweet  "Baby Olivia"...
...  last week ... Mohammed went to the mountain (Newport Beach) ...
and we travelled south to see  Parker  open a few of his presents.

I was completely baffled as to what  P-roo  would like this year.
He had tons of toys ... clothes and sports equipment ... so hmmm.
I happened by Ikea and just happened to see this little table and chair.

Light bulb!
Perfect for a busy boy just coming to the drawing and coloring age.
But of course ... yours truly couldn't leave it plain white.
So a little painted personalization was in order.
My design consultant ... Complicated Kai ... suggested I keep it simple.
Honestly ... I wanted to really jazz it up with stripes ... circles ... colors and tons of designs.
But ... we figured ... Parker's mom would be happier with the "less is more" philosophy.
It didn't take  Parker  long to put his new chair to use.  A guy needs his own
chair to watch "Yo Gaba Gaba".
Oh ... and also from Ikea ... we bought him a colorful abacus.
I think it's a great way to stimulate  P's  mind.
First ... just moving the beads from side to side ... enjoying the design.
Later ... learning to count and name his colors.
Fun for the whole family ... at least that's the plan.

Anyhoo ... the best part was watching  Parker  open his gifts.
The sad part was missing my little family on Christmas ... but hopefully ...
that won't happen too often.

Hope you all had a joyous Christmas!

Happy New Year to you all!
