was actually turned down by almost every record label.
One brave company decided to sign Pickett and it paid off big.
The Monster Mash ... with Pickett's impersonations of
Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi
was the Number One Song on the Billboard Chart in 1962.
It's been around for years ... and is still a hit and played
every year at this .................. eerie time of year.

I've always loved that song. In grade school we would learn choreography and perform the song on Halloween. Super fun.
