Today I decided to link up with Jess .... er ... Duckie over at

For those of you that know me ... you know I am a  total fitness nut ... 
okay ... maybe just a nut.  Either way ... I want to support my gal
Duckie in her efforts to keep fit and help the rest of us keep fit.

Okay Duckie ... here goes.....

This week I ....

Started a work out plan that gradually increases it's difficulty.
It involves standing flat footed ... arms extended ... holding a 
5# potato sack  in each hand.  The goal today ... hold them there
at least one minute.  Each day increase the length of time you can hold them.

After a week or two I increased the bag to #10 and then to #50 pound
potato sacks.  Today ... I've finally worked up to lifting
#100 pound potato sacks in each hand ... and holding them out for
10 minutes!


The hardest part was ....

Time is always the hardest  part for me.  My mind wanders and
I start to look at the clock.  I think it's been 10 minutes and it's
only been 2 minutes.  Holding my arms out straight for so long is tough.


My greatest accomplishment this week was ....

Actually lifting those 100# potato sacks.  I couldn't 
believe it in just a few short weeks 
I went from #5 pound bags to #100 pound bags!




Okay, I felt guilty because ....


Guilty confession ... because I felt I was doing so well ... my
husband bought a Marie Callender apple pie ... and I had a piece.
But hey ... I'm workin' hard ... doin' my "xercise thang."


Next week I'm gonna try ....

Okay ... my goal next week ... as if I need a goal after such success so far ...

try putting  just one potato in each sack.

Sorry Duckie ... you give me such sarcastic inspiration!
Hope you still love me.
