Trim The Tree Tutorial Tuesday...on Monday

I'm sorry ... I just can't help myself.  If there is any chance at all for me
to be ridiculous ... I'll take it.  But ...

Trim The Tree Tutorial Tuesday

did have a certain ring to it ... didn't it?   Anyhoo ... while I lament the fact that it's only Monday ...
I'll show you my  outlandishly over-the-top   unique version of a  Christmas Tree.

If you have followed me for very long ... you'll know that  I do not like boring!
That being said ... let's start at the beginning.   After a hard day hiking around in the snow ...
I found just the right tree ...

You know after you chop it down the elves wrap it in plastic ... right?

See how perfectly straight it is.  Okay ...  so it's not real ... and I may have left some
things on it from last year.

Yay ... all the lights still work.  I love not having to take them off.
Starting at the top ... weaving in and out ... I rearranged the netting.

Next the  Hooville bendable curly-cues and squiggly-stick-a-ma-bobs.
That's their scientific names ... I'm serious.

A not-boring tree needs a big top ... filled with lots of good stuff.

Let's see ... there's the  gold covered thistles ... the  sparkly red whispy coralish stuff ... some more  curly-gold-stick-a-ma-bobs ...
dangly gold jewelry ... deep red hydrangeas ... oh ... and some
over-the-top large gold feathers.

Are you bored yet?

So ... I guess now ... drumroll in the background ...
the peace-de-resistence ... the peese-de-resistents ...

the finished product .........

I love the  unexpected ... like  mixing colors together you don't usually
see together ... gold ... red ...  purple.    I love  oversizing elements in a room ...  these gi-normous ornamental balls ... and the large top-hat ... with
the  junky googaws ... gorgeous unique decorations  jammed in   delicately affixed ... create.
Each year I find one more Nightmare Before Christmas  ...
one-of-a-kind element to add to the mix.  One of these years
the branches are all going to snap off under all the weight.

But it's not boring.

It just needs something at the bottom.  Feel free ... if the holiday cheer should strike ... to
refer to my last post ... and select any of the lovelies off my Christmas Wish List.  I'm
planning to use plain brown wrapping paper on all of my gifts ... don't roll your eyes ...
I'm going with a theme here.  Feel free ... however ... to top your plain brown box with any
red ... gold ... or purple ... creatively colorful adornment you choose.
If you decide to get me Edward Cullen ... no extra adornment or wrapping necessary.

Merry Christmas !
